Gayle Fastest Century in 30 Balls – IPL 6
Chris Gayle today set a new world record for the fastest hundred in any format of professional cricket. Match number 31st of IPL 6 became the witness of fastest century in any format of cricket. Gayle played just 30 balls to score 100 runs against Pune Warriors India. He broke at least 9 records today which includes fastest century followed by maximum sixes by a player in an inning of IPL, maximum sixes in IPL, fastest fifty in IPL and blah blah blah. We can just imagine that when it was only 9th over when he scored 100. Final figure was 175 runs in just 66 deliveries.
The West Indies opener destroyed bowling attack of Pune Warriors like hell. At the end of the match, he was not out on 175 with 17 huge sixes & 13 boundaries. He broken down previous record of highest individual score by Brendan McCullum who had scored 158 not out. Royal Challenger Banglore hit 263 runs in 20 overs which is another record in any format of professional T20 matches. Previously Sri Lanka had scored 260 runs against Kenya in Johannesburg in Sept. 2007.
Gayle also took 2 wickets of Pune Warriors & they scored 139/9 after 20 over. His final bowling figure was 1 over, 5 runs and 2 wickets which is damn impressive. Royal Challenger Banglore won the match by 130 runs. Again It was one of the biggest defeats in T20 cricket match.
