Shikhar Dhawan Slams Fastest Century on Debut Match
Shikhar Dhawan – another Delhi boy scored hundred in his debut test match against Australia. He is the 13th Indian batsman to score more than hundred in debut match although he managed to secure 97th rank worldwide. Suresh Raina was the last Indian who scored century in debut match. He had scored 120 runs against Sri Lanka in 2010.
This hundred is mark-able because it was the fastest century ever by a batsmen in his debut match. Dhawan played only 85 balls to score 100 runs. He broke the record of England wicket-keeper batsman Matt Prior by 20 balls. Matt Prior reached his 100 off 105 balls against the West Indies at Lord’s in May 2007.
Australia were bowled out for 408 in the first innings shortly before lunch on the third day of the third cricket Test against India at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali on Saturday. India has solid chance to win the test and series as well.
